Great! You have advance warning and some opportunity to explore what you want to do next in your life!

Think about the things you enjoy doing in your ';free'; time - are you a social person, do you enjoy ';fiddling'; with things, do you enjoy blogging and playing on the computer, are you good at taking pictures? Without thinking too hard, write a list of your favorite things to do and an overview of your personality.

If you are very outgoing and detail oriented, you may want to go into sales of some sort. If you are more of an introvert who likes to work with your hands, you may want to go into a repair position (furniture, small engines, electronics, etc). Look on a job search website after you have made your list and see what kinds of jobs really fit what you like to do, and then look into what retraining you need to do them. If you need to take some classes, online or night classes might be an option while you finish your current position.

Also, start applying for the positions that may interest you at least 3 months in advance of the end of your current job - it may take a while to get into something new.

Find a way to take some classes in that field. You will not find a workplace willing to train someone who does nothing on thier own. You must show some inititive.

Maybe you can find classses on line to fit into your lifestyle or night classes at a local college.
one word bud, NORCAL! you can usually get a well paying job working in a shop and you meet a bunch of really cool people
Find something you enjoy to do and pursue it as a career. Or perhaps go to trade school or college to get in a better career.

Hello,

Have you ever thought about working your own business from home?

Maybe you should go to school and learn a new trade or enroll in university and shoot for a degree. Or if you're ambitious and have a good idea you could start your own small business.
