Im looking to get a new laptop and I need some advice?

I would like to get a new laptop laptop primarily for school work, movies, photos and a bit of gaming but I would like to be able to play some of the high graphics games like crysis. I've considered a macbook pro but I don't mind a mac or a pc, preferably under 拢1000 but if its worth it I don't mind going over.Im looking to get a new laptop and I need some advice?
MacBook and MacBook Pro are great for schoolwork, movies, and photo editing. You can buy some extra applications to enhance those features. I perfer the 2.4 GhZ model MacBook. Here's the link.Im looking to get a new laptop and I need some advice?
im in the same situation and im looking to use it for the same things as you. so far ive found two options. a Dell XPS Studio 13. and a 2.0ghz unibody macbook.

those two seem the most promising out of all the other ones ive researched. however, both have major flaws.

the macbook's flaw is the price. its just simply overpriced for what they give you

the dell's flaw is the ventilation. after reading countless number of reviews, the conclusion ive come to is that the ventilation is very poor. ive read hands on reviews where the heat coming from under the screen was so bad that there was discoloration in the LCD screen.

both however, can be overlooked. the macbook's flaw of being overpriced can be overlooked by the simple sexiness-factor. its just pleasant to look at. also OSX is phenomenal. so easy to use and very fast.

the dell's problem can be solved quiet easily.. dont do TOO much stuff on it. i wont be watching movies on it, so the dvd drive will be fairly inactive. i wont be playing games that require too much from the laptop, so that should keep the temperature of the laptop down, which means the ventilation problem wouldnt be much of a problem.

but either way, investing in a new laptop is hard work. i hope you decide on what to get... ive been stuck on what to get for like a year now lol. im going to a new university this fall, so i NEED to get it soon. gluck to you
This should fit the bill: http://www.alienware.com/products/notebo鈥?/a>

They have four model lines in order of cost:

2) Area-51庐 m9750 (17-inch) SLI庐 / Core鈩? Duo

4) Area-51庐 m17x (17-inch) SLI庐 / Core鈩? Duo

Alienware is a company that used to be independent but has now been bought by Dell.

Don't let people tell you that it is no good because it is Dell, because technically they don't make the machines, they just own the company.

Just check with them to see if they sell to the UK.
