Where can I find a Web site with advice about planting suitable trees near my new house ?

I am building a new house and had to remove a dangerous Weeping Willow. Planning permission was granted subject to my planting a more suitable tree, when the build is finished. The new tree will be about 12 to 15 metres from my new house. Any help you can give re: a Web site that has details of tree type and most importantly, suitability for plantling near my new home, would be much appreciated. There is a list of ';patio trees'; that have tame root systems and that do well close to a home.

Check the website of your state's agricultural extention service or better yet call!!!!! your county extention agent's office.


Some things are better done the old fashioned way instead of via internet because your local extention office will not only have the ';offical'; list but will have had feedback from people who have planted different trees in you local area.
